Using Online Coupons As A Marketing Strategy

Online coupons are hot. If you want you to grab the attention of a massive population of prospective customers, your business needs to be where they are: online coupon directories.

In case you're one of the many business owners who say, "I don't see my business as the coupon type", or "I'm afraid once I advertise with coupons, no one will come here unless they have a coupon", it's time to rethink your marketing strategy.

There are basically 3 types of people when it comes to coupons.
The people don't go anywhere before they check to see if there's a coupon available.

Business owners who do market with coupons aren't giving up on any of the 3 groups. Plus, since group 3 isn't likely to use a coupon anyway, the availability of a coupons won't make a difference. That being said, here are some of the advantages of offering coupons online:
Far less expensive than printed coupons either in direct mail, newspaper or magazine
Online coupons can reach exponentially more people because there are no natural boundaries like their are in print media
Online coupons can be changed in an instant and don't require you to wait until the next printing
Online coupons are so popular. Millions of people are on the lookout for online deals
Local business information represents nearly half of all online searches. Who's going to get the business? The search results which offer coupons!
Positioning your coupons on an online directory will most likely attract exponentially more visitors than your stand alone website. This gives you the opportunity to be discovered by people would otherwise have never discovered you.
Most online coupon directories require users to register their name and email address. In some cases, when someone chooses your coupon online, the business is sent an email notification which includes users' name and email address which can be used for your own email marketing.

However beautifully created, most small business websites get little traffic and produce little or no results. Marketing your coupons on a local business directory, specifically one which is designed to market your coupons will bring more attention to your coupons, your website and your business.
