The Cape Is Way Beyond Any Average Superhero Series

NBC finally revealed the complete pilot episode of The Cape. It's a fresh series that does not exactly get operated by superheroes. It is a story of a man who got thrust into circumstances by the merciless hands of his fate. The episode got aired at the Comic Con in San Diego over this weekend. The protagonist of the series, Detective Faraday had no intentions of becoming a superhero. However, his reputation gets blemished and he is thought to be dead. The man then is forced to reinvent himself in the favorite superhero of his son to put down an infamous villain.

Heroes does not get born as heroes, until the time of decision and choice comes, those are difficult times, and those are trying times that make all the difference between an ordinary human and heroes. Faraday is no Superman either; he is rather quite Batman-esque and in the series The Cape, he is only powered by the strength and courage of one man who is strong-minded to make that much needed difference and get his name cleared of all the blemishes. While the technique of storytelling is tried as well as true, the show starts in a slow mood, until Summer Glau as Orwell is introduced with her mysterious and stunning persona.

Orwell is not merely a vigilante in the hunt for justice but is more of a crusader who has thrown a gauntlet into the crime syndicate of the city and is patiently waiting for somebody to pick it up. Faraday is simply that unwilling hero answering that call. There is as well a group of carnival type bank robbers who are joining teams with The Cape. They have actually welcomed Faraday into their realm and trained him to be that much needed superhero with one of them even mentoring Faraday.
